POWERMAN Florida follows the established duathlon format used by many prestigious events around the world. Race starts with the initial run (in place of a swim found in the triathlon format) of 10K/6.2M, followed by a bike segment of 60K/40M and finally the finishing run of another 10K/6.2M. The event is sanctioned by USAT and follows the "non drafting" rules observed in other USAT triathlon events and IRONMAN™ series events organized by WTC.
Athletes can leverage their run and bike strengths to set personal records, test various race strategies (fast open, tempo close for example) or use this event as a fantastic training event in pursuit of their other multisport goals such as the 140.6 or 70.3 Ironman finishes.
Race the fastest course in the series, featuring the iconic Palm Beach Raceway and closed private roads through scenic Florida. Palm Beach International Raceway is a world class racing facility located near the West Palm Beach metro and easily accessible from all points in South Florida using I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. The facility boasts a road course, an IHRA sanctioned drag strip, kart track, rallycross, mini motard and skid pad facilities.
Run course follows the main race track and consists of three (3) loops of 2.07 miles each for a total of 6.2 miles or 10K. There is a fully stocked Aid Stations on the course, reachable from both directions, giving athletes ample and frequent access to fluids, nutrition and medical aid if needed.
Bike course utilizes the partially closed Beeline Highway and Pratt Whitney roads adjacent to the facility. It consists of two loops, approximately 19 miles each (out and back) and two miles of access roads for a total of 40 miles or 60K. There is no elevation change on the course and the entire course if paved.
